Fixed, Negotiable or On Call? The little word under your price quietly decides how many people message you — and how serious they are.

When Fixed wins

Use Fixed for new or high-demand items where you know the market value: phones, consoles, limited-edition sneakers. It filters out hagglers and signals confidence.

When Negotiable wins

For cars, furniture and anything bulky, Negotiable typically doubles enquiries. Buyers feel permission to start a conversation — and a conversation is halfway to a sale.

When to use On Call

Services, bundles and rare items with no obvious market price do best on On Call. Pair it with a starting guide in the description ("similar sets go for around $2,000") so callers arrive qualified.

  • Price endings in 0 or 5 get more search matches.
  • Never write the price in the title — it looks desperate.
  • Drop the price by 5% after two quiet weeks, not 20% in a panic.
